Leadership, Collaboration and Team-work.

The clergy, staff and volunteers of Holy House are faithful Catholics, most are active members of St. Benedict’s, and all are deeply committed to parent-lead education. They have a variety of educational and academic backgrounds ranging from liberal arts to the sciences. They are committed to supporting parents and educating children in the Catholic classical tradition and, most importantly, in virtue.

All clergy, staff and volunteers at Holy House are required to undergo a criminal background check (including a vulnerable sector search) and a child welfare check, and to complete the Safe Environment training programme required by the Ordinariate, Safe Haven — It’s Up to You. The safety and well-being of our students is paramount.

Mark Ingham PhD Cand., M.A., B.A., B.Ed | Headmaster

Mark Ingham, along with his wife, Erin, are dedicated homeschoolers with educational foundations in great books Liberal Arts. Mr. Ingham's background includes curriculum development, education policy, and educational leadership. He was baptized into the Catholic church in 2015. His journey had begun many years before when encountering teachers and friends who sought wisdom together, bringing to life the books of our wisest teachers across the ages. As St. Basil the Great taught us long ago, wisdom and the other virtues are found in many venerable traditions, but find their completion and perfection in Christ. Mr. Ingham is grateful every day for the faithful leadership of our Ordinariate clergy, the joy of our students, and the faithful talented staff and volunteers at Holy House and across the Gilbertine Institute. He is delighted to be leading Socratic seminars for ancient literature with his class of Juniors and to be learning Latin along with his students. This year, onward and upward into Latin II.

Magister James Rauch B.A., B. Ed. | Second Master, School Verger

Mr. James Rauch is a proud Albertan with roots in the French community of Legal and the surrounding area. He is a passionate educator dedicated to the Catholic liberal arts tradition and holds the honour of being the founding teacher of Holy House Edmonton. Over the past several years, Mr. Rauch has been responsible for the cultivation of the Holy House vision in Edmonton under the tutelage of the programme’s esteemed Calgary founders. During that time, Mr. Rauch has had the privilege to be an integral part of Holy House Edmonton’s growth from a humble co-op to a fully accredited school with a faculty of talented and dedicated staff and volunteers he is grateful to be a member of. Mr. Rauch has also helped shape Holy House's academic life through the development of core programme resources working as a member of the Holy House Curriculum Team; one of his most recent works is a catechism of sacred history called The St. Gilbert Catechism. In addition to his teaching and curriculum responsibilities, Mr. Rauch serves Holy House Edmonton as Second Master, supporting the Headmaster in his various leadership duties, and more notably as School Verger, the spiritual and cultural anchor dedicated to preserving the English Catholic patrimony in the school. In his coveted hours of leisure, Mr. Rauch enjoys reading good books, intellectual study, listening to music (mostly classical, traditional folk, and big band swing), mastering the skills of the cottage economy, and spending time with his homeschooled wife, Miriam, and growing family. At Holy House Edmonton, Mr. Rauch teaches History, Catechism, Latin, Literature, Composition, and Grammar.

The Gilbertine Institute is pleased to announce that Mr. James Rauch, present Verger and Lead Teacher, has accepted the position of Headmaster for the 2025-2026 school year. He will be replacing outgoing Headmaster Mr. Mark Ingham, who will be moving with his family back to their property in Ontario. We will miss Mr. Ingham, but are very pleased to have a smooth leadership transition to such a qualified and vision-focussed individual.
