More about us:
Holy House of Our Lady and St. Benedict is an accredited independent school, grades one through nine, under the authority of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter (a Roman Catholic diocese that exists to realise the aims of the late Pope Benedict XVI’s Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum coetibus). We are administered by the Gilbertine Institute which includes WISDOM Home Schooling, The Holy House of Our Lady & St. Benedict, The Gilbertine Academy, and Villa Spiritus.
Our school is under the authority of his Excellency the Most Rev’d Steven J. Lopes, our Bishop, the Very Rev’d Robert-Charles Bengry GSmp, Magister of the Companions of St. Gilbert and Ordinariate Dean of All Canada, and the Rev’d Kenneth Noster, Head of School of the Gilbertine Institute.
The Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter is a diocese that preserves and celebrates the English patrimony. Holy House, as an Ordinariate school, is therefore steeped in the British academic tradition and is an accredited school based in a parish Church under the direct authority of the clergy. We are an apostolate of the Companions of St. Gilbert of Sempringham, and of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Edmonton. Because of the role of the clergy, and the prayers of our little Gilbertine Community, our school has an intentional monastic rhythm and influence. Gilbertine spirituality embraces orderliness, industriousness, and balance, with an aim of personal holiness oriented towards the care of the poor in spirit. Students absorb these things through prayer, study, interaction with the clergy, and faculty — all of whom are believing and practising Catholics who take an Oath of Fidelity at the beginning of each school year.
